Four more days of Downtime until we go on break 😎
Hi there! 🌊
It’s Saturday but it feels kind of like Thursday because we prepped yesterday and are open Saturday through Tuesday. This is that part of the year where all time ceases to make sense and it could be like, a Tuesday when it’s actually a Sunday, and it could be 10pm when it’s really 4pm.
This is a reminder that we are open only four more days before we go on our semi-annual winter break so come on by while you still can. We are running a special persimmon ginger cake all week. We are making maple wheat loaves tomorrow. We have 100% rye today, Saturday. And then on Tuesday (our last day open!) we will be forgoing our normal sandwich service at 11am so we can make a ton more bagels for you to slice and freeze. Don’t miss out. Fill your freezer!
We are open 9am to 3pm today (Saturday), Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Then we are closed to go on break from December 31st through January 7th. We’ll be back, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, on January 8th.

Looking forward to seeing you in the shop.
xo,

I loved, loved, loved Lonely Crowds by Stephanie Wambugu — definitely one of my favorite books of the entire year. I’m still thinking about friendship as worship! I am reading Say Nothing, about the Troubles, a few years late — thanks for lending it to me, inadvertently, Steve :). Lizzie put on a really good playlist yesterday but I’ve since forgotten all the songs on it. You may be wondering: What will we do over break? And the answer is: Go surfing in Puerto Rico. I’m overjoyed!! 🏄🏻♀️ How was everyone’s holiday time? Are you happy the days are getting longer again?
