Fruit + nut sourdough is your Thursday special this week
Hi!
Well, well, well, we are so back. It was invigorating and fulfilling to be back in the bakery this week after a few days being out. As Caro, one of our beloved bread bakers, was off on vacation, I did the bread bake all week, and it still — still! — provides me with the greatest joy, loading and unloading loaves of bread from our steaming hot ovens. While I can’t say enough amazing things about our pastries, sandwiches, and coffee, bread has always been my first love. On a day where everything is going right, and the bread looks so good and tastes even better, I am pretty floored that this is what we get to do all day. So thanks for coming to buy bread. Keep coming!

On that note, last week we ran a special on Thursday with candied walnuts, golden raisins, apricots, and cherries, that I then brushed with a green plum syrup, and we all agreed it was an absolute banger. So we’re running it again this Thursday. Come and grab a loaf and a cup of coffee and some pastries. You won’t regret it.
In other Downtime news, did you get your ticket + book for our next NIGHTTIME AT DOWNTIME event with our friend, Tanya Bush? Tickets are selling fast, so don’t delay! She and I will be chatting about writing, baking, and emotions, and we’ll have a build-your-own pavlova bar, as well orange poppy seed cake and drinks to enjoy. It’s next Thursday, March 12th from 6 to 8pm! Get your ticket here!
We also have something so fun to announce that we’re doing on Friday, March 13th. More to come on that in a rare Friday newsletter…get ready.
Okay, that’s it for now! See you at the bakery!
xo,

I will spend the rest of my life thinking about Rosalía and Björk performing at the BRITS. How does one become that cool………… Asking for a friend. Weirdly, besides finishing this absolutely bonkers good biography of Muriel Spark called Electric Spark by Frances Wilson, not much else is up. What’s up with you? Anyone got a good album rec?
